Difficult to get into Fantasmic during the holidays? Is the Fantasmic or Candlelight Dinner Package worth it?

How difficult is it to get into Fantasmic during the holidays? Also wondering if it is worth it to do the dinner package for either Fantasmic or the Candlight Processional. Thanks! Which restaurants can you eat at for the Candlelight Dinner Package?

  1. You can check on special packages to get priority seating at Fantasmic when you make your reservations. It's normally part of a package that is a little pricey, but well worth it if you really want to see it up close.
  2. Not difficult at all to get in, but the dinner to get in early is so not worth it. We did it last year and when they let us in the private entrance it was already over half full and we had to sit farther back then ever before.
  3. Fantasmic! - I don't personally believe so. It will allow you to sit sooner, but the reserved section for the package is off to the right and it's not that great of a view. It's been said that there really are no bad seats to F! (although if you're between the screens, it is kinda bad), but all the way off to the side isn't that great. I'd stick to just trying to get there early enough to be near the center. I've been to performances where the 3rd row center had been empty until 20 minutes before the performance. The thing is people consume more space than they really need, so you just need to find it. CMs may start directing to you to particular sections, but once you're down in the seating areas, you'll be free to roam around to try to find something better. Plus there's often additional performances during busier seasons. During christmas week, there should even be 3 performances nightly. the second (and later) performances are always far less busy. So only consider the FDP if you (1) are on the dining plan and were going to eat at Mama Melrose, Hollywood & Vine or Brown Derby anyway or (2) you need to go to the first showing. You'll still be advised to show up at least half an hour prior to the show with the package. as far as the candlelight processional, it's a bit different. because of the number of restaurants that participate in it, you'd be insane not to get to the package, especially if you're on the dining plan since it's all 1 TS credit anyway. Waits will be pretty intense for it. I went in the beginning of December and the package line started more than 45 minutes prior to the show. by the time they started seating guests, the line had stretched as far as France. everyone got seats however and they did continue to fill up space with the standby line, but if you want an up close seat, it's imperative to do the package and show up at least half an hour before the show.
