Does it take longer for your package to arrive during the holidays?

I just remembered that I had sent a box from the big city to my little village (Alaska) on December 18, 2008 ...it still hasn't arrived yet. Parcel Post, not insured :/ What can I do? It's uninsured...

1. Of course, yes. I am only answering from common sense, not from any direct knowledge of the goings on of the Post Office. It will not be so hard to imagine how the volume of parcels would be on the holiday of holidays, the Chistmas season during which you chose to send your package. On the other hand, it seems foolish of me to think that you would send a Christmas package some other time say, August. hehe. That is a foolish pressumption. So, be it as it is, Christmas parcel during Christmas, of course. And it takes longer, especially that some employees are also off for the holidays. And because it is of the inspection routine that needs to be done to check your package for contraband or explosives.
