How do you feel about the american president taking exotic vacations when we are in near depression?

whether its a Republican, Democrat or whatever. I just want to know whether you think its appropriate. I know some people will feel what the heck a president can do whatever. Others may feel a president should kind of tone that his millionaire lifestyle a bit to at least pretend he is one of the people. Or have we gotten to the point in this country that there is no longer a need to even pretend to be one of the people. By the way....a follow up question is how do you feel about having mostly millionaires and multimillionaires as U.S. senators and Presidents?..you know..making laws and passing policies that the rest of us have to live with.

Yes. As stressful as his job is, I would be concerned if the President DIDN'T take vacations. But, if you think the Predsident isn't in instant contact and "working" even on vacation, you're delusional.
I feel no different than I did on election day. I lost my lunch.
Surely you know even if they are on vacation, it's always a "working" vacation, I guess unless your Governor Sanford.
I have no problems with it since he stayed within the United States. If the president is on vacation, he's spending money, and if he's spending money, he's stimulating the local economy. Hoarding one's wealth is not how we make our economy strong again.
The time is coming and people on both sides are starting to feel it. The gap between rich and poor is gaining ground and the middle class is beginning to evaporate. Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama... very few SUBSTANTIAL policy differences exist between all of them. One day the rich will find themselves staring into the eyes of masses of individuals with alot of pent up rage.... and history will once again repeat itself.

I think it is fine for a president to take a vacation. And I understand that President Obama took his brain with him to Hawaii and was able to work while he was on 'vacation.' To answer your follow up question - Senators make a career out of being senators. It is time we limit them to two terms and then they can go back to the real world they helped create through legislation! Stay tuned.

Chewy Ivan: He is spending our money to finance that vacation. I have no problem with a president taking a vacation, yes it is a working vacation, but I have not been able to take a vacation....period. Toss out all of our government officials and elect new ones! we need a real change, not pretend change.
Well W. Bush took about 200 vacation days a year while in office and we were and are in a war so why not plus its in his home state. and why can't he take a break once and a while the presidents not a slave.
